Washi made with water from the clear Nagara River, a clear stream that is a blessing of the lush nature of Mikuni Gifu, is a traditional technique that has been popular in Japan since the Nara period(710-794),and the beautiful Yuzen patterns are a heartwarming part of Japanese culture.
These colorful handmade writing utensils are decorated with “elegant and beautiful” Yuzen patterns, also known as Chiyogami.
Each piece of Japanese paper is hand-rolled,coated with acrylic resin to protect it from dirt and water, and finished with a dry UV-resin finish.
Weepinｇ cherry trees have a long history and have been popular since the Heian period(1200 years ago).
